U.S. RUBBER RECEIVES 2022 REAL LEADERS IMPACT AWARD
The sustainable rubber flooring company is included among this year’s 200 Top Impact
Companies for its second chance hiring practices
Colton, Calif.– (January 12, 2022) – U.S. Rubber earned its place among the 200 newly selected winners of its 2022 Top Impact Companies from around the world.
The list features a mix of respected impact brands of all sizes and from a variety of industries, including Traditional Medicinals, Hannon Armstrong, and Ocean Brands, as well as Allbirds, Danone, and Warby Parker. See Impact Awards ranking.
“Business leaders across the globe are rapidly discovering that to be competitive – and to grow and thrive – they must forgo shortsighted thinking in favor of a farsighted vision that takes into account their company’s social and environmental impact,” said Mark Van Ness, Founder of Real Leaders. “We are excited to welcome new and old companies alike to the impact movement, and into the Real Leaders Impact Awards community.”
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Real Leaders among so many other values-aligned companies,” said U.S. Rubber CEO Jeff Baldassari. “Our long-term focus on producing a high-quality, sustainable product using recycled tire crumb from a former waste stream while practicing and promoting second-chance hiring has been a huge part of achieving this award.”
A virtual ceremony will be held on February 24, 2022 honoring the winners and featuring a keynote from Peter Diamandis, founder and executive chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation and executive founder of Singularity University.

About U.S. Rubber
U.S. Rubber is a true triple-bottom-line business, providing a second chance to employees looking to rebuild their lives and a second life to discarded materials while its rapid growth rate increases economic vitality in California’s Inland Empire. The Colton, Calif.–based company removes used truck tires from the local waste stream and recycles them into long-wearing, custom-colored fitness flooring and LEED-certified, sound-absorbing underlayment for multistory buildings. About half the workforce that produces these high-value products consists of formerly incarcerated people, and an increasing number are military veterans. The company’s predesigned fitness flooring is available through Home Depot and other retailers.
